More than once I have seen games that simply must have the most terrible conversion due to the congestion of the interface or the need to enter a million fields in order to enter the game.

I wanted to provide one-click login from the main page, i.e. no mandatory registration. In the same Sliterio, a similar approach is used, with one small difference – they still want the player to enter a nickname.

Because an online game usually assumes the ability to distinguish one player from another, I decided to use the nikogeneration approach – when entering the game, a random adjective from a predetermined list is taken and combined with a random noun.

“Silverlight” technology in creating browser games

Various technologies are used in the creation of browser games, including the Silverlight technology offered to developers by Microsoft. Users to use applications created in “Silverlight” need to install the appropriate plugin in their browser. It should be noted, however, that not all browsers, operating systems and computer hardware support this technology. Thanks to the efforts of Microsoft specialists, these restrictions are gradually being erased, and in some new operating systems, “Silverlight” is already pre-installed.

Possibilities of technology “Silverlight” suggest use in projects, for example, in the creation of browser games, vector graphics, animation, audio and video clips. At the same time, in developing applications, knowledge of the .NET Framework programming language (for example, C ++, Visual Basic) and the XAML extensible markup language will be required.

There are no Russian-language browser games based on “Silverlight” technology, but games in English are not easy to find. The reluctance of game developers to use Microsoft’s technology can be explained by its selective work on various user devices, thereby theoretically reducing the size of the future audience of a browser game. As an alternative to “Silverlight”, no less functional technologies “Adobe Flash”, “Unity 3D” and others are used.
